How privacy works with XtremeShare features
A short guide to what the product does — P2P transfer, no account, optional passwords, resume, and large-file sends — and what that means for your data.
Overview
Privacy built around the handoff
XtremeShare is browser-based peer-to-peer file transfer. The product is designed for a private send — not a permanent cloud folder, not an account graph, and not an advertising profile built from your files.
We do not require an account to start a transfer. We do not use transfer contents for advertising. The goal is a direct handoff: you send, they receive, and the session does its job.
Peer to peer
Direct transfer, not a stored library
Transfer is browser-based P2P — files move user to user in the browser for the send. We do not download your files onto our servers as a stored folder you leave behind.
That design choice is the core privacy feature: the product exists to move a package once, not to host an ongoing archive of your work.
No account
No sign-up wall
There is no mandatory email, password account, or credit card to start a transfer. You open the page, select files, and share the link.
Because there is no account, we do not keep a personal transfer history tied to a user profile. You hold the link; the recipient opens it.
Password protection
Optional link password
You can enable password protection before you generate a link. The recipient must enter that password before the transfer can start.
Use a password when the link might travel through chat, email, or a ticket system where more than one person could see the URL.
After three failed password attempts, the link expires. The recipient cannot try again on that link. The sender needs to create a new one.
Resume
Paused downloads
If a download pauses, the recipient can pick up from where it stopped instead of restarting from byte zero. That keeps large video, CAD, and build packages practical without forcing a full re-send.
Resume is a transfer convenience feature — it does not create an account or a lasting cloud folder of your files.
Large files
No platform size marketing cap
There is no advertised platform file-size or file-count cap for a send. Move raw video, CAD, software builds, and archives in one transfer when both peers and the network can support it.
Practical limits still depend on the browsers, bandwidth, memory, and devices on both sides of the handoff. The privacy model stays the same at any size: peer-to-peer transfer for the send.
What we see
Operational details, not your content for ads
To run the product we may process operational details needed to create a share link, show filenames on the receive page, apply an optional password check, and keep the transfer session working.
We do not use the contents of your transfers for advertising. We do not sell transfer contents. If you contact support, include only what you are comfortable sharing about a broken link or failed send.
