Browser sharing

File sharing that lives in the browser

If both people can open a modern browser, you can often skip USB cables, app stores, and “please install our desktop client” friction.

Why browser-based sharing helps

There is nothing to deploy on company laptops beyond a browser you already trust. That matters for quick contractor handoffs, classroom labs, and mixed OS households.

What XtremeShare does in the browser

You select files locally, create a share room, and send a link. The browsers negotiate WebRTC and move encrypted chunks. Keep the sender tab available until the receive finishes.

  • Works across Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS browsers that support WebRTC
  • Optional password on the room
  • Resume after a pause when the sender is still sharing

Browser limits to expect

Mobile Safari download UX can feel different from desktop. Very large transfers still depend on device memory, battery, and network quality. Background tab throttling can interrupt a sender — keep the tab foregrounded when possible.
